Path to Ordination
A Licensed Minister may be ordained at age 25, provided they have had sufficient years of active ministry service and are otherwise qualified.
May also be ordained at age 30 with the required experience in active ministry and full qualification before the Board of Examiners.
Requirements for Licensed Rank
Must have served as Exhorter and be promoted to Licensed rank when deemed qualified by the State Overseer and concerned authorities.
Must have received the baptism of the Holy Ghost as evidenced by the initial sign of speaking in other tongues.
Must adhere strictly to all teachings and doctrines of the Church of God as set forth by the General Assembly.
Required to pay tithes faithfully to the State/Regional Overseer and the respective State Office to retain licensure.
Rights & Authorities
Privileged to sit in the General Council of Ordained Ministers during assemblies and gatherings
Authorized to administer baptism and receive believers into church membership
May solemnize the rites of matrimony where state law recognizes ministerial credentials
Eligible to apply for full ordination upon meeting the age and ministry requirements
Council of Ordained Ministers
The Licensed Minister shall be privileged to sit in the General Council of Ordained Ministers. This privilege recognizes the advancing rank and growing responsibility of the Licensed Minister within the Church — participation is granted without voting privileges, reflecting the transitional nature of this rank.
