Our Foundation

Church History

Church of God (Full Gospel) in India is part of The Church of God International — headquartered at Cleveland, Tennessee, USA. One of the world's oldest and largest Pentecostal denominations, present in 194 nations.

1886

R.G. Spurling founds the Church of God in Monroe County, Tennessee — the beginning of a global Pentecostal movement committed to Biblical holiness.

1907

Azusa Street revival expands Pentecostal fire worldwide. Church of God grows rapidly across continents under the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Early 1900s

Missionary Robert F. Cook establishes the Full Gospel Church in India. Kerala becomes a stronghold of Pentecostal faith and witness.

2025

103rd State Convention held in Kerala. Over 1,200 churches, 1,500+ ministers, and three Bible seminaries continue the FINISH Commission legacy.

The Church of God recognises three tiers of ministerial calling — each representing different levels of training, credential, and Gospel responsibility.

Ordained Ministers

Fully credentialed clergy authorised to perform all ministerial functions — baptism, communion, and marriage rites

Licensed Ministers

Ministers in active training and service, working under supervision toward full ordination credentials

Exhorter Ministers

Entry-level ministerial credential recognising those called to preach and exhort within the local church fellowship

State Board

Governing the affairs of COG Kerala with prayerful accountability and strategic vision for the state

Planning Board

Strategic planning and vision casting for church growth, missions, and institutional development

Credential Board

Oversight of ministerial credentials, ordinations, and standards for all ministers in Kerala State
